Clinical trials are crucial to make new drugs available to patients in need and ensure their safety at the same time. Patients who participate in clinical trials provide an invaluable service both to science and to fellow patients. There are currently more than 90 Phase I/II trials and many Phase III drug trials in process for prostate cancer in North America and Europe. In this show, Dr. Ian Thompson, a Glenda and Gary Woods Distinguished Chair in GU Oncology at The University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, educates us more about ongoing clinical trials in prostate cancer including barriers to trial enrollment.
