Dr. Ara Karamanian | CureTalks
Ara Karamanian, MD is a board certified diagnostic and interventional radiologist specializing in prostate cancer. He co-authored an article entitled “MRI Guided Prostate Interventions” accepted for publication in October of 2016 in the American Journal of Roentgenology. Recognizing his research in focal laser ablation, he was given an award at the GEST 2016 conference for his research in MRI guided focal laser ablation. Dr. Karamanian is a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology, the American College of Radiology, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. He graduated with Level II certification from the Radiology Leadership Institute. Prior to medical school, Dr. Karamanian studied biomedical engineering at Duke University, where he graduated with distinction for his work in 3D ultrasound imaging research. He studied biomedical engineering prior to becoming a physician to be able to intimately understand advanced technologies and learn how to apply them effectively to achieve better outcomes for his patients.
