After having a prostatectomy in 2006, Bill Martin became severely impotent and incontinent. One of his strategies to survive Prostate Cancer was to write a journal which eventually turned into a book, which was published in 2014. Excerpts from his book, Ripped Out: One Man's Journey Surviving Prostate Cancer can be seen on Bill's website at billmartin.net. Bill Martin is a poet and writer. He is retired and he and his wife Sharon live in the straw bale house they built on the shore of Lake Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada. Bill was recently appointed as a community representative on the Prostate Cancer Canada peer panel that funds research programs to improve prostate cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
