Dr. Katherine L. Nathanson, MD, is Deputy Director and Pearl Basser Professor for BRCA-Related Research at the Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania. She also serves as a Professor of Medicine in Genetics at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Nathanson is board-certified in clinical genetics and genomics and her expertise includes Abnormal Genetic Test Results, Cancer Genetics, DNA Repair-Deficiency Disorders, Hereditary Cancer Risk, Multiple Genetic Syndromes, Predisposition to Cancer, Genetic Counseling, Next Generation Sequencing and more. She is part of the Basser Center for BRCA, Penn Neuroendocrine Tumor Program, Penn Translational Medicine and Human Genetics Program and the Science Meets Community program. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, completed her residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and pursued her fellowship training at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
