Ranjan Kumar is a PhD Candidate in neuroscience at the University of Calgary, Canada. He is studying the role of adult dermal stem cells derived Schwann cells in peripheral and central nervous system repair. Before starting his PhD Ranjan worked at Dr Reddys Laboratories, India on atherosclerosis and his team discovered a molecule for treating atherosclerosis, which is now in phase 1 clinical trial. Ranjan did his MSc in neuroscience at Jiwaji University, India. He loves teaching and research is his passion. Ranjan's long term goal is to become an academic professor and make Canada a global leader in regenerative medicine.
