Rick is a nationally recognized patient advocate and Founder of Answer Cancer Foundation. Diagnosed with locally advanced prostate cancer in 2007 and treated with radiation and hormone therapy, Rick moderates AnCan's High Risk/Recurrent/ Advanced Prostate Cancer virtual support group, a weekly online & telephone group. This is one of 10 monthly virtual groups offered by AnCan (www.ancan.org). He has received UsTOO's peer nominated Edward C. Kaps Award, is a former Patient Advocate at UCSF, and speaks frequently on prostate cancer and patient navigation. Rick is a serial social entrepreneur who also runs Medafit (www.medafit.org) promoting exercise for people living with serious and chronic illness.
