Terry Herbert | CureTalks
Terry Herbert was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1996 when he was 54 years of age. He logged onto the Internet soon after diagnosis and discovered that, even then, concern was being expressed about unnecessary treatment of men with variants of the disease that were likely to be indolent. He chose not to have invasive therapy despite the advice of the doctors he consulted in South Africa, where he was living at the time, Australia and the USA. With the help of another Australian couple the Morrisons he established a website which was entitled YANA You Are Not Alone Now at http://www.yananow.org. In addition to the website Terry authored a booklet aimed primarily at men who do not have access to the Internet. Approximately 800 copies of this booklet have been mailed out at no cost. The booklet can be downloaded from the site at http://www.yananow.org/StrangePlace/index.html.
